Pete lopez

Business Development Manager @ tempCFO

Pete Lopez is currently Head of Business Development with tempCFO, Inc., which provides fully outsourced accounting solutions to start-up, emerging high-growth and established companies. Mr. Lopez leads national business development activities and strategic consulting on venture debt to technology ventures and other businesses.

Mr. Lopez previously held various position in the commercial banking industry with technology banking leader - Silicon Valley Bank, Heritage Bank of Commerce and Bank of America.  He was responsible for identifying opportunities, underwriting debt and other credit instruments while providing expert insight into all banking products and services.  He was a member of the founding team at tempCFO, Inc. where he was responsible for strategy and operations that included infrastructure and all marketing aspects of the organization to the early stage startup ecosystem. 

Ben Mathews

Early Stage Investor @ Bessemer Venture Partners

Ben is an early stage investor at Bessemer in San Francisco where he focuses on BVP's angel, Seed and Series A investments. Before joining Bessemer, Ben worked for three years at Google where he helped build out a retail product organization for Google’s hardware portfolio. His first role at Google had him working with the CMO on global marketing strategy and operations. Ben also co-founded a student internship and job marketplace called Jobzle and work as a PM for an early stage eCommerce company. He graduated from Brown University with a degree that combined engineering with entrepreneurial management and product development. When he’s out of the office, Ben can be found riding a Boosted Board, reading his Pocket queue and watching Casey Neistat videos.

Eddie Gandevia

Co-Chair of LAUNCH

Eddie Gandevia (MBA '17) is a co-chair of LAUNCH - the University of California's Startup Accelerator. He is a former private equity investor at a firm innovating on the traditional fund model, McKinsey consultant focused on consumer, retail and energy, and an EdTech entrepreneur. He's on a mission to invent the new financial models required to scale investing and entrepreneurship in underserved markets.

Michelle McKelvey

New Business Account Executive @ Google

Michelle McKelvey is a graduate of Babson College, and currently a New Business Account Executive within Google's Small Business Acquisitions Team.


Prior to joining Google, Michelle led Marriott's New Business Sales Acquisition Group, setting the #1 Acquired Revenue record, #1 Quota Attainment record, and holding the #1 Global Sales Executive title. In addition to becoming the youngest Sales Executive to be hired at Marriott, she became the youngest New Business Account Executive at Google this past year. She is currently responsible for developing comprehensive Digital Strategies for a variety of businesses within Google's Advertising Platforms.

Jeremy fiance

Founder and Managing Partner @ House Fund

Jeremy Fiance is the Berkeley startup investor, dedicated to strengthening Berkeley’s startup community and equipping Berkeley founders with the tools needed to build great businesses. Jeremy was previously an investor at Keiretsu Forum, CrunchFund, and Dorm Room Fund SF. As an entrepreneur, Jeremy co-founded a health data science startup called Dropsense backed by Skydeck Berkeley and the Foundry @ CITRIS and actively advises several Berkeley startups, including Lily. While a student at UC Berkeley, Jeremy proved the campus’ startup potential co-launching several initiatives, including Kairos Society Berkeley and Free Ventures, that have sparked over 50 startups. Outside of the technology and startup world, Jeremy is a black belt in Tang Soo Do, table tennis gold medalist, self-proclaimed cartoonist, live music enthusiast, and die hard Cal Bears fan.

Michael berolzheimer

Founder and Managing Partner @ Bee Partners

Michael Berolzheimer, Founder & Managing Partner of Bee Partners, is an investor and entrepreneur.  In 2008, Michael formed Bee Partners (www.beepartners.vc), a pre-Seed stage venture capital firm.  He’s invested in and advised entrepreneurs since 2004, after he took a shot on a young team selling “Bear Naked” granola.  Michael has invested in over 40 companies including TubeMogul (TUBE), Indiegogo, Modify Industries, Tradesy, Skycatch, LeadGenius, Preact, Ordergroove, Magoosh, Zipongo, Neighborly, and BuildingConnected. Michael serves as an advisor to dozens of entrepreneurs & investors, is a Venture Advisor for UC Berkeley’s SkyDeck, the school’s accelerator program, and moderates CalFounders, alumni group for Cal dedicated to entrepreneurship. 

 

Michael began his career in New York with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette / Credit Suisse, an investment bank, and with Harvest Partners, a middle-market private equity fund managing over $2 billion in assets.  He earned his MBA from Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley, and completed his undergraduate studies at Vanderbilt University in Computer Science & Economics.  

Matt bornstein

Principal @ Blumberg Capital

Matt is a principal based in Blumberg Capital’s San Francisco office. He brings more than 10 years of experience working with entrepreneurs and startups as both a founder and a venture capitalist.

 

Prior to Blumberg Capital, Matt worked with Correlation Ventures, a quantitative venture capital firm, and Greycroft Partners, a digital media VC. Matt previously founded two technology companies in the enterprise software and tech-enabled services sectors. Additional experience includes new product development at LinkedIn and strategy consulting with the Monitor Group. Matt earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and his B.S. in mathematics from Brown University.

 

Matt serves as a member or observer on the board of directors of Midfin Systems, Pachyderm and Saucey.

Sudip Chakrabarti

Partner @ Lightspeed Venture Partners

Sudip joined Lightspeed in 2016 as a partner focused on enterprise infrastructure software.

Prior to joining Lightspeed, Sudip was a partner at Andreessen Horowitz where he worked on half a dozen new investments – Forward Networks, Tachyon Nexus,  Distelli, Samsara and couple of others in stealth – and was a board observer for a dozen portfolio companies – Actifio, Databricks, DigitalOcean, Mesosphere, to name a few. He started his venture career at Osage University Partners where he invested in university spinouts such as Menlo Security, Infinio, Skytree, etc. and worked closely with Computer Science researchers from all the top tier universities.


Sudip has an affinity for learning and has spent more than his fair share of time indulging in it. Along the way, he has picked up a PhD (Computer Engineering) from Georgia Tech, an MBA from Wharton and a B.Tech from IIT Kharagpur.

Ari Zilka

Venture Partner @ Khosla Ventures

Ari is a venture partner at Khosla Ventures, where he focuses on enterprise, infrastructure, cloud computing, data management, security and programming frameworks and languages. 


Prior to joining Khosla Ventures, Ari was the chief technology officer at Hortonworks, the premier commercial vendor of Apache Hadoop, the de facto open source platform for storing, managing and processing big data. While there, he helped build the product management, sales and services teams and led the company to ship it’s initial product. Ari also brokered several initial partner integrations and designs. More recently, he worked closely with customers building multi-thousand node clusters and designing business solutions on the platform and with the founding architects driving new features into the open source core itself. Ari also helped shepherd the company’s successful initial public offering.


Ari pursued a bachelor’s of science degree at the University of California, Berkeley with a focus on electrical engineering and computer science and also studied mechanical engineering.

Ajay kamat

Partner @ Pejman Mar Ventures

Ajay Kamat is a partner at PejmanMar Ventures. Prior to this role he started, raised capital, and sold the mobile startup Wedding Party. He focuses on consumer products and is passionate about building great product teams.

Stephanie Gillen

Senior Controller @ tempCFO

Stephanie Gillen is currently a Senior Controller at tempCFO, Inc., which provides fully outsourced accounting solutions to start-ups and established companies. She serves as a finance advisor for her clients, helping improve efficiency in day-to-day finance related operations and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Prior to working at tempCFO, she has worked in the finance department at multiple eCommerce Startups and started her career at Deloitte in financial services.
